REPORT

Examination:

· Ultrasonography of the thyroid gland/neck.

Findings:

- The study revealed mild diffuse enlargement of left lobe of the thyroid gland with a cystic lesion in the middle part of left lobe measuring approx; 34X 22 mm in size. Areas of internal echoes seen within this cystic lesion. No areas calcification noted. Rest of the parenchyma appears normal. Isthmus and right lobe normal. Doppler study show no increased vascularity.

- Apparently normal caliber and contour of the trachea.

- Normal vascular bundles in both sides of the neck.

CONCLUSION:

· Cyst in the left lobe of thyroid gland.

· Ultrasonography of the thyroid gland/neck.

Findings:

- The study revealed diffuse enlargement of left lobe of the thyroid gland with a large solid nodular lesion in the lower part of left lobe measuring approx; 4X 2.8 cm in size. No areas of cystic degeneration or calcification noted. Rest of the parenchyma appears normal. Isthmus and right lobe normal. Doppler study show normal vascularity in the gland and nodule.

- Apparently normal caliber and contour of the trachea.

- Normal vascular bundles in both sides of the neck.

CONCLUSION:

· Solid nodule in the left lobe of thyroid gland.

REPORT

Examination:

· Ultrasonography of the thyroid gland/neck.

Findings:

- The study revealed mild enlargement of both lobes of the thyroid gland and isthmus with coarse echotexture and a hyperechoic nodular lesion involving the upper part of right lobe measuring approx; 9X7 mm in size.. Doppler study show increased vascularity of the gland except in the nodule.

- Apparently normal caliber and contour of the trachea.

- Normal vascular bundles in both sides of the neck.

CONCLUSION:

· Diffusely coarsened echotexture with a hyperechoic nodule in right lobe of thyroid gland. ?Chronic thyroiditis with nodule. Previous investigations not available for comparison.

No areas of cystic degeneration or calcification noted. Rest of the parenchyma appears normal. Isthmus and right lobe normal. Doppler study show normal vascularity in the gland and nodule.

- Apparently normal caliber and contour of the trachea.

- Normal vascular bundles in both sides of the neck.

CONCLUSION:

· Small nodule in the left lobe of thyroid gland.
