REPORT
Examination:
· Ultrasonography of the thyroid gland/neck.
Findings:
- The study revealed mild diffuse enlargement of both lobes of the thyroid gland with coarse echotexture and multiple predominantly hypoechoic nodular lesions without cystic components more involving the left lobe the largest of which in the inferior aspect of right lobe measuring approx; 11X 7 mm in size. Other small nodules noted in the superior aspect of both lobes. Isthmus normal. Doppler study show mild increased vascularity of the gland.
- Apparently normal caliber and contour of the trachea.
- Normal vascular bundles in both sides of the neck.
CONCLUSION:
· Diffusely coarsened echotexture with hypervascularity and hypoechoic nodules in both lobes of thyroid gland. ?Toxic multinodular goitre. Suggested histopathological correlation.
