U/S of Thyroid gland

USG Study No.

                                                US348US348

REPORT

Examination:

·         Ultrasonography of the thyroid gland.

Findings:

-          The study revealed mild enlargement of both lobes and isthmus of the thyroid gland with diffuse nonhomogenous echotexture and  increased vascularity. No obvious nodules  or calcifications noted in the parenchyma. Doppler study show increased vascularity of the gland.

-          Apparently normal caliber and contour of the trachea.

-          Normal vascular bundles in both sides of the neck.

CONCLUSION:

·         Diffuse mild enlargement of the gland with altered nonhomogenous echotexture and increased vascularity. ? Toxic thyroiditis.

To be correlated with thyroid function tests.

U/S OF ABDOMEN

-          The liver is showing normal size and  shape. There is mild diffuse coarsening of the echotexture. No hepatic parenchymal lesions could be identified, normal caliber of theCBD and hepatic veins, no intrahepatic biliary dilatation seen. Portal vein is not dilated.

-          The gall bladder show normal morphology. No wall thickening or pericholecystic collection

-         Pancreas appeared normal in size and shape. No focal lesions seen.

-         Spleen normal in size and echotexture. No ascites is seen.

-          Normal size, site, and shape of the kidneys, with normal echopattern, , no hydronephrosis. Intact cortico-medullary ratio. No focal parenchymal lesions noted. No calculus.

-         Ureters- Not dilated.Urinary bladder and prostate- Normal.

         CONCLUSION:

·         Mild coarsening of   hepatic echotexture. ? Early hepatic parenchymal disease. Please to be correlated with liver function tests.
