Name of the Patient : Abc Xyznoo Manslmn / F / 32 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzam.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Left Upper Leg.

CLINICAL PROFILE :

C/O pain and swelling around the left knee joint since 3 months.

EXAMINATION :

M.R.I of the left upper leg was performed using the following parameters :

4 mm thick T1 Weighted, proton and GRASS sagittal images.

5 mm thick T1 Weighted and STIR coronal images.

4 mm thick GRASS axial images.

Vitamin E capsules were placed at the site of pain.

OBSERVATION :

Menisci :

The menisci are not well-visualized on this scan.

Cruciate Ligaments :

The anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments show normal contour and signal characteristics.

Collateral Ligaments and the Patellar Tendon :

The medial and lateral collateral ligaments and the patellar tendon are unremarkable.

Hoffas Fat Pad :

The posterior aspect of the Hoffas fat pad is irregularly defined and shows a frond like appearance.

Bones :

The visualized tibia and femur appears normal.

Fluid is seen within the left knee joint and suprapatellar bursa.

Incidental note is made of varicose veins.

IMPRESSION :

The MRI features are suggestive of fluid within the left knee joint and suprapatellar bursa with probable synovitis.
