Name of the Patient : Abc Xyzlmn / F / 25 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzngsarkar.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Right Knee Joint.
CLINICAL PROFILE :
C/O pain in both knees since 1 year.
H/O right knee chondroplasty.
EXAMINATION :
M.R.I of the right knee joint was performed using the following parameters :
4 mm thick T1 Weighted, proton and GRASS sagittal images.
4 mm thick T1 Weighted and STIR coronal images.
4 mm thick GRASS axial images.
OBSERVATION :
Menisci :
There is curvilinear hyperintense signal in the posterior horn of the medial meniscus not reaching upto the articular surface and represents a Grade II meniscal signal (meniscal degeneration).
The anterior and posterior horns of the lateral meniscus and anterior horn of the medial meniscus reveal normal configuration and signal characteristics.
Cruciate Ligaments :
The anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments show normal contour and signal characteristics.
Collateral Ligaments and the Patellar Tendon :
The medial and lateral collateral ligaments and the patellar tendon are normal.

- 2 - Scan-00009
Hoffas Fat Pad :
The Hoffas fat pad is normal.
Articular cartilage and bones :
Small hypointense areas on the T1 Weighted images are seen in the medial femoral condyle of the right femur. These are seen to turn hyperintense on the T2 Weighted and STIR images. There is slight disruption and thinning of the articular cartilage overlying femur.
Minimal fluid is seen within the right knee joint.
There is thinning of the articular cartilage overlying the patella with slight irregularity, laterally.
IMPRESSION :
The MRI features are suggestive of :
1. Altered signal in the posterior horn of the medial meniscus not reaching upto the articular surface represents Grade II meniscal signal (meniscal degeneration).
2. Altered signal in the medial femoral condyle of the right femur suggestive of osteochondritis dessicans.
3. Minimal fluid within the right knee joint.
4. Slight thinning of the patellar cartilage.
