Name of the Patient : Abc Xyza Kalmn / F / 19 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzmpat.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Cervical Spine.

CLINICAL PROFILE :

C/O gait ataxia with mild weakness of the LUE and LLE and swelling over the right side of the neck since 15 days.

EXAMINATION :

M.R.I of the cervical spine was performed using the following parameters :

4 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted sagittal images.

5 mm thick T1 Weighted and Fast Scan (T2 *) axial images.

OBSERVATION :

There is a small posterior disc bulge with peridiscal osteophytes at the C5-C6 level with anterior indentation of the thecal sac.

The cervical vertebral bodies and the intervertebral discs show normal signal intensity. The joints of Luschka and the visualized pre and paravertebral soft tissues are unremarkable.

The cervical spinal cord reveals normal signal intensity.

The atlanto-axial region and the cervico-medullary junction are unremarkable.

Enlarged lymphnodes are noted in the submandibular regions bilaterally and along the posterior margin of the right carotid sheath, deep to the right sternocleidomastoid muscle.

The posterior fossa was screened with 5 mm thick T2 Weighted axial images and does not reveal any significant feature of note.

IMPRESSION :

The MRI features are suggestive of :

1. A small posterior disc bulge with peridiscal osteophytes at the C5-C6 level.

2. Enlarged cervical lymphnodes as described.
