Name of the Patient : Abc XyzGlmn / M / 26 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzrkar.
Examination : M.R.I. of Both Hips.

CLINICAL PROFILE :

C/O pain in both hip joints and both knees (left more than right)
since 3 years with limp since 21 days.

EXAMINATION :

M.R.I of both hips was performed using the following parameters :

5 mm thick T1 Weighted and STIR coronal images.
5 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted (with fat saturation) axial images.
5 mm thick Proton density sagittal images.

OBSERVATION :

There is seen an ill-defined, hyperintense signal on the T2 Weighted and STIR images in the roof of the left acetabulum, anteriorly. This signal appears hypointense to normal marrow on the T1 Weighted images. No obvious cortical erosion is identified.

The femoral heads and the right acetabulum reveal normal signal intensity. The articular cartilages are unremarkable. There is no effusion within both the hip joints.

The musculature surrounding both the hip joints and the visualized pelvis is normal.

IMPRESSION :

Altered signal in the roof of the left acetabulum, anteriorly is not specific for a single etiology. These changes may represent bone edema, osteitis or a neoplasm though the latter seems less likely.

The right hip joint is unremarkable.
