Name of the Patient : Abc Xyznlmn / M / 1 1/2 yrs.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Abdomen and Pelvis.

CLINICAL PROFILE :

H/O absence of left testes.

EXAMINATION :

M.R.I of the abdomen and pelvis was performed using the following parameters:

5 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted (with fat saturation) axial images.

5 mm thick T1 Weighted and STIR coronal images.

5 mm thick T1 Weighted sagittal images.

OBSERVATION :

The left scrotal sac appears slightly hypoplastic. The left testes is not visualized in its normal position within the scrotal sac. Hypoplastic cord structures are seen to extend into the scrotal sac on the left. The left testes is also not visualized along its course of descend in the abdomen or pelvis on this study.

The right testes is visualized in its normal position.

Small, subcentimeter lymph nodes are noted in the inguinal regions on either side.

The liver is normal in size, shape and position. There is no focal or diffuse area of altered signal intensity. There is no intrahepatic biliary radicle dilation. The intrahepatic venous architexture is normal.

The gall bladder is normal and reveals no intrinsic abnormality.




The pancreas is normal in size and signal characteristics.

The spleen and both adrenals are normal.

Both the kidneys are normal in size and signal characteristics.

The urinary bladder shows normal wall thickness. There is no prostatic enlargement noted.

The ischio-rectal fossae on either side appear normal.

There are no abnormally enlarged abdominal lymph nodes identified. No obvious vascular anomaly is noted. There is no free fluid in the abdomen and pelvis.

An ill-defined hyperintense signal on the T2 Weighted and STIR images in the left gluteal muscles may be due to an intramuscular injection.

IMPRESSION :

A hypoplastic left scrotal sac with the left sided testes not visualized in its normal position or along its normal course of descend, on this study.
