Name of the Patient : Abc Xyz Kelmn / F / 29 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzrani.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Cervico-dorsal Spine.
CLINICAL PROFILE :
H/O posterior decompression over C6 to D1 levels and laminectomy of C7 on 00.00.00 for tuberculosis. On AKT since then.
For follow up.
EXAMINATION :
M.R.I. of the cervico-dorsal spine was performed using the following parameters :
4 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted sagittal images.
5 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted axial images.
4 mm thick STIR coronal images.
OBSERVATION :
There is evidence of laminectomy of the C7, D1 and D2 vertebrae with post-operative changes in the soft tissues in the posterior cervico-dorsal region over these levels.
The C7, D1 and D2 vertebral bodies show spotty fatty marrow changes which may be due to the healing of previous osteitis. The C7-D1 intervertebral disc is slightly reduced in height and the visualized cervico-dorsal intervertebral discs show loss of water content.
Intermediate signal intensity soft tissue is noted in the anterior and left lateral epidural space at the C7-D1 and D1 levels which may represent scar/granulation tissue.
The rest of the visualized cervico-dorsal vertebral bodies reveal normal signal intensity.
The joints of Luschka and the visualized pre and paravertebral soft tissues are unremarkable.
The cervical spinal cord reveals normal signal intensity.
The atlanto-axial region and the cervico-medullary junction are unremarkable.
IMPRESSION :
As compared to the previous MRI dated 00.00.0000 [Study No.00002], the patient is now status post-operative. The C7, D1 and D2 vertebral bodies show spotty fatty marrow changes which may suggest healing of the previous osteitis. The previously described prevertebral, left paravertebral and anterior epidural soft tissue lesion is not identified on the present study. The soft tissue in the left lateral and anterior epidural space at the C7-D1 and D1 levels may represent scar/granulation tissue.
