Name of the Patient : Abc Xyzkar Solmn / M / 60 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzah.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Brain.
CLINICAL PROFILE :
C/O visual defect with blurring of vision bilaterally.
EXAMINATION :
M.R.I of the brain was performed using the following parameters :
5 mm thick T1 Weighted, FLAIR and T2 Weighted axial images.
3 mm thick T1 Weighted and STIR coronal images.
5 mm thick T1 Weighted sagittal images.
OBSERVATION :
There is no focal area of altered signal intensity in the brain parenchyma.
Both the lateral, third and the fourth ventricles are normal. The basal cisternal spaces are unremarkable. There is slight prominence of the cerebral cortical sulci bilaterally. There is no shift of the midline structures. No obvious vascular anomaly is identified on this study.
The optic nerves on either side are decreased in calibre, without obvious change in signal intensity. Prominent perioptic CSF space is noted.
There is slight herniation of the orbital fat of the left orbit into the ethmoidal air cells on the left (se/im : 106/14, 102/6, 104/10-11). The visualized orbits are otherwise unremarkable.
The sella, suprasellar cistern and the cavernous sinuses are unremarkable.
IMPRESSION :
1. No significant abnormality is detected within the brain parenchyma, per se, on this study.
2. Bilateral optic atrophy.
3. Herniation of the orbital fat of the left orbit into the ethmoidal air cells on the left.
