Name of the Patient : Abc Xyza Ralmn / F / 30 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzndesha.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Pelvis.
CLINICAL PROFILE :
H/O small, clinically palpable swelling in the anterior pelvic wall on the left.
H/O last caesarian 4 years ago.
EXAMINATION :
M.R.I of the pelvis was performed using the following parameters:
7 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted (with fat saturation) axial images.
5 mm thick T1 Weighted and STIR coronal images.
7 mm thick T2 Weighted sagittal images.
OBSERVATION :
There is a well-circumscribed lesion in the left adnexa measuring approximately 2.2 cms in diameter. This lesion is hypointense on the T1 Weighted images and turns hyperintense on the T2 Weighted images and represents an ovarian cyst. A small intermediate signal intensity area is noted within the lesion on the T1 Weighted images which is seen to turn hypointense on the T2 Weighted and STIR images. The uterus appears antevertal.
Similar but smaller cysts are noted on the right side.
The urinary bladder appears normal.
The ischio-rectal fossae on either side appear normal.
No obvious vascular anomaly is noted. There is no free fluid in the pelvis.
A small hypointense area is seen in the subcutaneous region just anterior to the rectus abdominis muscle on the left side (se/im:102/8-9, 103.8-9, 106.20) on the T1 Weighted images and turns hyperintense on the T2 Weighted and STIR images and this may represent an enlarged lymph node or an inflammatory granuloma. This lesion measures approximately 2.0 x 2.0 x 1.0 cms.
IMPRESSION :
1. Left ovarian cyst measuring approximately 2.2 cms in diameter (? simple cyst ? endometrial cyst ?? dermoid).
2. An inflammatory granuloma/enlarged lymph node located within the anterior abdominal wall on the left side.
