Examination : M.R.I. of the Adrenals.
CLINICAL PROFILE :
C/O increase of weight with no increase in height (? Cushings).
EXAMINATION :
M.R.I of the adrenals was performed using the following parameters:
8 mm thick T1 Weighted axial images.
6 mm thick T2 Weighted axial images with fat saturation.
5 mm thick T1 Weighted and STIR coronal images.
OBSERVATION :
The adrenal glands bilaterally are well visualized and show normal signal intensity. They are normal in size and no obvious mass lesion is seen in the region of the adrenal glands.
A small area which is hyperintense on the STIR images is noted at the antero-inferior (medial) aspect of the spleen which may represent a spleniculus.
The visualized liver is normal in size, shape and position. There is no intrahepatic biliary radicle dilation. The intrahepatic venous architexture is normal.
The gall bladder shows layering of bile.
The pancreas is normal in size and shape.
Both the kidneys are normal in size and shape.
IMPRESSION :
Normal study of the Adrenals.
Probable spleniculus at the antero-inferior (medial) aspect of the spleen.
