Name of the Patient : Abc Xyza Siddlmn / F / 7 days.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzooq.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Brain.
CLINICAL PROFILE :
C/O seizures since birth.
EXAMINATION :
M.R.I of the brain was performed using the following parameters :
5 mm thick T1 Weighted, proton and T2 Weighted axial images.
3 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted coronal images.
OBSERVATION :
There are CSF intensity lesions on all the pulse sequences in the region of the lentiform nuclei/external capsules bilaterally.
Hyperintense signal on the T1 Weighted images is noted in the thalami and subthalamic regions bilaterally and in the right frontal, parafalcine region. These lesions appear relatively hypointense on the proton and T2 Weighted images. There is no perilesional edema.
The myelination pattern appears normal for the patients age.
A prominent cisterna magna is noted.
Both the lateral, third and the fourth ventricles are normal. The rest of the basal cisternal spaces are unremarkable. There is no shift of the midline structures. No obvious vascular anomaly is identified on this study.

IMPRESSION :
1. CSF intensity lesions on all the pulse sequences in the region of the lentiform nuclei/external capsules bilaterally, may represent lacunes/prominent perivascular spaces.
2. Altered signal in the thalami and right frontal, parafalcine region most likely represents areas of calcification. A perinatal infection should be ruled out.
