Name of the Patient : Abc XyzTilmn / F / 28 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc XyzWalvekar / Dr. Abc Xyztrak.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Brain.
CLINICAL PROFILE :
C/O seizures since 2 days.
H/O similar complaints 4 years back during pregnancy.
EXAMINATION :
M.R.I of the brain was performed using the following parameters :
5 mm thick T1 Weighted, proton and T2 Weighted axial images.
3 mm thick T1 Weighted, T2 Weighted and Fast Scan (T2 *) coronal images.
OBSERVATION :
There is evidence of a well circumscribed lesion having a diameter of approximately 10 mms in the left frontal lobe. This is of intermediate signal intensity on all the pulse sequences. It has a hypointense rim with a central speck of hyperintensity on all the pulse sequences. Adjacent to this are areas of hyperintensity on the proton and T2 Weighted images (? gliotic changes, ?? mild perilesional edema).
Both the lateral, third and the fourth ventricles are normal. The basal cisternal spaces are unremarkable. There is no shift of the midline structures. No obvious vascular anomaly is identified on this study.
IMPRESSION :
The MRI features are suggestive of a well circumscribed lesion having a diameter of approximately 10 mms in the left frontal lobe with signal characteristics as described and represents a granuloma (more likely to be cysticercus in the granular-nodular/calcified stage).
