Date : 00.00.00

Name of the Patient : Abc Xyz lmn / M / 13 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzah.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Brain.

CLINICAL PROFILE :

C/O seizures since 00.00.00.

EXAMINATION :

M.R.I of the brain was performed using the following parameters :

5 mm thick T1 Weighted, proton and T2 Weighted axial images.
3 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted coronal images.
4 mm thick FLAIR coronal images.
PATIENT REFUSED CONTRAST EXAMINATION.

OBSERVATION :

There are small bright foci on the proton, T2 Weighted and FLAIR images in the frontal deep white matter. These are isointense to white matter on the T1 Weighted images. Similar changes are seen in the right periatrial deep white matter.

The temporal horn on the right side is prominent which may be a normal variant.

There are CSF intensity lesions located in both temporal lobes with surrounding gliotic reaction (scans 105.12, 107.12, 106.15, 105.14, 105.15).

Both the lateral, third and the fourth ventricles are normal. The basal cisternal spaces are unremarkable. There is no shift of the midline structures. No obvious vascular anomaly is identified on this study.

Incidental note is made of enlarged adenoids and bilateral maxillary sinusitis.
R>
IMPRESSION :

Altered signal in the frontal deep white matter, in the right periatrial deep white matter and in both temporal lobes is not specific for a single etiology.

If clinically indicated, a contrast enhanced scan would be useful.
