Name of the Patient : Abc Xyza Dslmn / F / 34 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzarikh.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Sella & Perisellar Region.

CLINICAL PROFILE :

C/O galactorrhea with headaches since 4 months.
Serum Prolactin level 7.72 ng/ml on 00.00.00.

EXAMINATION :

M.R.I of the sella and perisellar region was performed using the following parameters :

3 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted coronal images.
3 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted sagittal images.
The brain was screened with 5 mm thick T2 Weighted axial images.

OBSERVATION :

The pituitary gland is normal in its size and location and reveals normal signal intensity. However the superior margin of the pituitary gland appears convex. The posterior pituitary gland reveals normal hyperintense signal on the T1 Weighted images. The pituitary stalk is in the midline. The hypothalamus is unremarkable.

The cavernous sinuses and the suprasellar cisterns are unremarkable on either side.

Screening T2 Weighted axial images of the brain reveal slight prominence of the cerebral folia bilaterally with inflammatory changes in the right mastoid air cells. There is no focal area of altered signal in the brain parenchyma. The ventricular system is normal. There is no midline shift.

IMPRESSION :

No significant abnormality is detected on this study.

If a pituitary microadenoma is strongly suspected, a contrast enhanced study would be worthwhile.
