Name of the Patient : Abc Xyza Kalmn / F / 29 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzvade.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Left Ankle & Foot.

CLINICAL PROFILE :

C/O pain and swelling over the left ankle (on & off) since 2 years.

EXAMINATION :

M.R.I. of the left ankle and foot was performed using the following parameters :

4 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted (with fat saturation) axial images.

4 mm thick T1 Weighted and STIR coronal images.

4 mm thick T1 Weighted and GRASS sagittal images.

OBSERVATION :

There is an ill-defined, hyperintense signal on the T2 Weighted, GRASS and STIR images in the subcutaneous soft tissues in the distal third of the left leg and around the left ankle joint. This signal appears hypointense to the normal fat on the T1 Weighted images.

There is slight prominence of the trabeculae in the talus without change in signal characteristics.

Minimal fluid is noted in the ankle joint per se.

The rest of the visualized bones show normal configuration and signal intensity. No obvious bone destruction or erosion is evident.
>

The visualized tendons and ligament show normal signal intensity.

IMPRESSION :

1. Altered signal in the subcutaneous soft tissues in the distal third of the left leg and around the left ankle joint may represent cellulitis. No abnormality is detected in the left ankle joint per se on this study.

2. Slight prominence of the trabeculae in the talus without change in signal characteristics.

3. Minimal fluid in the ankle joint per se.
