Name of the Patient : Abc Xyzra lmn / M / 45 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzmpat.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Cervical Spine.

CLINICAL PROFILE :

H/O spinal surgery done at the L4-L5 level.
C/O numbness of BLE.

EXAMINATION :

M.R.I. of the cervical spine was performed using the following parameters :

4 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted sagittal images.

5 mm thick T1 Weighted and Fast Scan (T2 *) axial images.

SOME IMAGES SHOW PATIENT MOTION.

OBSERVATION :

There is loss of normal cervical curvature and loss of water content of the cervical intervertebral discs.

A small posterior disc herniation with peridiscal osteophytes is seen at the C5-C6 level with anterior indentation of the thecal sac.

A small right postero-lateral disc herniation with peridiscal osteophytes is noted at the C4-C5 level. The joint of Luschka on the right side at this level shows degenerative change with right neural foraminal narrowing. Degenerative changes of the joints of Luschka is also noted at the C5-C6 level, bilaterally.

Mild posteriorly bulging discs are noted at the C2-C3, C3-C4 and C6-C7 levels.

The C3-C4, C4-C5 and C5-C6 facet joints show degenerative changes, bilaterally.

The cervical vertebral bodies show spotty fatty marrow changes. The visualized pre and paravertebral soft tissues are unremarkable.

The cervical spinal cord reveals normal signal intensity.

The atlanto-axial region and the cervico-medullary junction are unremarkable.

The dorsal spine was screened with T2 Weighted sagittal images which shows small posterior disc herniation with peridiscal osteophytes at the D8-D9 and D9-D10 levels. Mild posterior bulging disc is noted at the D7-D8 level. The lower dorsal facet joints are hypertrophied.

IMPRESSION :

The MRI features are suggestive of :

1. A small posterior disc herniation with peridiscal osteophytes at the C5-C6 level.

2. A small right postero-lateral disc herniation with peridiscal osteophytes at the C4-C5 level.

3. Degenerative changes of the C3-C4, C4-C5 and C5-C6 facet joints.

4. Degenerative changes of the joints of Luschka at the C4-C5 level on the right and at the C5-C6 level bilaterally.
