Name of the Patient : Abc Xyzgh Vadaplmn / M / 38 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzpta.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Dorsal Spine.

CLINICAL PROFILE :

C/O backache with radiating pain to the LLE with tingling.

EXAMINATION :

M.R.I. of the dorsal spine was performed using the following parameters :

4 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted sagittal images.
5 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted axial images.
SOME IMAGES SHOW PATIENT MOTION.

OBSERVATION :

There is fusion of the D9 and D10 vertebral bodies anteriorly with obliteration of the D9-D10 intervertebral disc in its anterior portion. The D9 and D10 vertebral bodies show fatty marrow changes adjacent to the remaining posterior portion of the D9-D10 intervertebral disc. This suggests healing of the previously occurred infection.

There is hypertrophy of the facet joints at the D8-D9 and D9-D10 and D10-D11 levels. The rest of the visualized dorsal vertebral bodies and remaining intervertebral discs reveal normal signal intensity. The remaining facet joints and the visualized pre and paravertebral soft tissues are unremarkable.

The visualized dorsal spinal cord reveals normal signal intensity.

The conus medullaris terminates at the L1 level.

The lumbar spine was screened with 5 mm thick T1 Weighted sagittal images and is unremarkable.

IMPRESSION :

The MRI features are suggestive of

1. Anterior fusion of the D9 and D10 vertebral bodies and ke.bv.rp.rp.D9-D10 disc with altered signal as described most probably is a sequelae to past infection and represents healing.

2. Facetal hypertrophy at the D8-D9, D9-D10 and D10-D11 levels.
