Name of the Patient : Abc XyzLakhalmn / M / 52 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzdy
Examination : M.R.I. of the Neck.
CLINICAL PROFILE :
C/O neck pain and swelling over the neck since 15 days.
EXAMINATION :
M.R.I of the neck was performed using the following parameters :
6 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted (with fat saturation) axial images.
5 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted coronal images.
6 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted sagittal images.
FEW IMAGES SHOW PATIENT MOTION.
OBSERVATION :
A small hypointense area on the T1 Weighted images is seen in the left lobe of the thyroid gland (se/im 108/13-14). This is seen to turn hyperintense on the T2 Weighted images and may represent a small colloid cyst.
Small, subcentimeter lymph nodes are noted anterior to the left carotid sheath (scans 108.8, 9).
The carotid sheaths bilaterally appear to be normal. No other obviously enlarged lymphnodes are evident on this scan.
The right thyroid gland and the larynx show normal configuration and signal characteristics. The visualized bones show normal signal intensity and no obvious bone destruction is evident.
Scan-00005
The visualized salivary glands are unremarkable.
No obvious mass lesion is seen on this study.
IMPRESSION :
The MRI features are suggestive of a small area of altered signal
in the left lobe of the thyroid gland and this may represent a small colloid cyst.
Small, subcentimeter, lymph node is noted along the anterior margin of the left carotid sheath.
