Name of the Patient : Abc Xyzlmn / F / 42 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzrel.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Dorsal Spine.
CLINICAL PROFILE :
An operated C/O spinal ependymoma.
For follow up.
EXAMINATION :
M.R.I of the dorsal spine was performed using the following parameters :
5 mm thick T1 Weighted, proton and T2 Weighted sagittal images.
5 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted axial images.
After administration of contrast the following parameters were used :
5 mm thick T1 Weighted axial and sagittal images.
OBSERVATION :
Extensive post-operative changes are visualized in the posterior soft tissues of the back extending over the D6 to the L3 vertebral level along with laminectomy over these levels.
The lesion extending from the D8 to the L4 level seen on the previous MRI scan dated 00.00.00 and 00.00.00 can no longer be identified. There is a residual syrinx cavity over the D7 to the D11-D12 levels.
The intrathecal nerve roots over the L1 to the L3 level are seen to be irregular, thick and clumped together and
would be representative of Group I arachnoiditis. ..2/.
- 2 - Scan-00008
The intervertebral discs at the D12-L1, L1-L2 and L4-L5 levels reveal loss of water content. Note is made of posterior disc herniations at the D12-L1 and L1-L2 levels.
The dorso-lumbar vertebral bodies and the remaining intervertebral discs reveal normal signal intensity. The visualized pre and paravertebral soft tissues are unremarkable.
IMPRESSION :
1. Post-operative status.
2. The lesion from the D8 to L4 levels seen on the previous MRI scan dated 00.00.00 and 00.00.00 is no longer identified.
3. Remnant of the previous syrinx is identified over the D7 to the D11-D12 levels.
4. Group I arachnoiditis over the L1 to the L3 level.
As compared to the previous MRI (Study No.0000) dated 00.00.00, there is no significant change noted.
