Name of the Patient : Abc XyzJhanglmn / F / 63 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyz.
Examination : M.R.I. - Brain (Post-Contrast Study).
CLINICAL PROFILE :
C/O difficulty in swallowing.
EXAMINATION :
The brain was screened with 5 mm thick T1 Weighted sagittal images and T2 Weighted axial images.
After administration of contrast, the following parameters were used :
3 mm thick T1 Weighted axial and coronal images (with fat saturation).
3 mm and 5 mm thick T1 Weighted axial images (with magnetization transfer).
5 mm thick T1 Weighted sagittal images.
OBSERVATION :
There are hyperintense areas on the T2 Weighted images in the fronto-parietal white matter bilaterally. These are iso to hypointense to normal white matter on the T1 Weighted images and are most probably ischemic in etiology.
Prominent perivascular spaces are noted in both cerebral hemispheres.
There is mild fullness of both the lateral ventricles. The third and the fourth ventricles are normal.
There is prominence of the cerebral cortical sulci and cerebellar folia bilaterally.
There is evidence of an ill-defined, area of enhancement in the region of the nasopharynx/base of the tongue on the left side with resultant indentation upon the air space. This may represent a neoplastic process like a nasophalyngeal carcinoma (?? inflammatory) and requires further evaluation.
