Name of the Patient : Abc Xyzta Mulmn / F / 23 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyz Shah.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Dorsal Spine.
CLINICAL PROFILE :
C/O backache.
EXAMINATION :
M.R.I of the dorsal spine was performed using the following parameters :
4 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted sagittal images.
5 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted axial images.
The cervical and lumbar spines were screened with 4 mm and 5 mm thick T1 Weighted sagittal images, respectively.
Vitamin E capsules were placed as markers at the site of pain.
OBSERVATION :
There is slight loss of water content of the D2-D3 and D7-D8 intervertebral discs.
The visualized vertebral bodies in the spinal axis appear relatively hypointense to normal marrow on the T1 Weighted images which may suggest preponderance of hematopoeitic marrow.
The remaining intervertebral discs reveal normal signal intensity. The facet joints and the visualized pre and paravertebral soft tissues are unremarkable.
The visualized dorsal spinal cord reveals normal signal intensity.
The conus medullaris terminates at the D12-L1 level.
Except for the marrow changes, the screening images of the lumbar spine are unremarkable whereas the screening images of the cervical spine reveal small postero-central protruded discs at the C3-C4 and C4-C5 levels.
IMPRESSION :
Altered marrow signal of the vertebral bodies in the spinal axis may suggest preponderance of hematopoeitic marrow (? anemic).
No other significant abnormality is detected within the dorsal spine on this study.
