Name of the Patient : Abc Xyz Blmn / F / 28 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzo.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Dorso-lumbar Spine.
(Post-contrast Study).
CLINICAL PROFILE :
C/O backache with paresthesias in the LLE.
H/O mild fever off and on.
EXAMINATION :
M.R.I of the dorso-lumbar spine was performed after contrast administration using the following parameters :
4 mm thick T1 Weighted sagittal images and 3 mm thick T1 Weighted coronal images (with fat saturation).
5 mm thick T1 Weighted axial images (with fat saturation).
OBSERVATION :
After administration of contrast, there is evidence of an approximately 0.9 x 1.0 x 2.0 mms thick, rim-enhancing, intramedullary lesion in the conus medullaris at about the D12 vertebral level. This lesion most likely represents a granuloma (e.g. a tuberculoma). Linear, vertically oriented enhancement patterns are noted along the superior and inferior margins of the lesion.
Screening, T1 Weighted sagittal images (with fat saturation) of the cervico-dorsal region do not reveal any significant feature of note.
