Name of the Patient : Abc Xyzar J. lmn / M / 49 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyznji.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Cervical Spine.
CLINICAL PROFILE :
C/O neckpain with pain radiating to the LUE with numbness.
EXAMINATION :
M.R.I of the cervical spine was performed using the following parameters :
4 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted sagittal images.
5 mm thick T1 Weighted and Fast Scan (T2 *) axial images.
OBSERVATION :
There is straightening of the cervical spine with loss of water content of the cervical intervertebral discs.
A large left postero-lateral disc herniation is noted at the C6-C7 level with antero-lateral indentation of the cord, left neural foraminal narrowing and indentation upon the left C7 nerve root. Superior and inferior migration of the disc is noted. A small right postero-lateral disc herniation is also seen at this level with right neural foraminal narrowing.
A left paracentral disc herniation is seen at the C5-C6 level with mild left antero-lateral indentation of the thecal sac.
Small posterior disc bulges are noted at the C3-C4, C4-C5 and C7-D1 levels.
The C3-C4 and C5-C6 facet joints on the right side and the C4-C5 facet joints bilaterally show degenerative changes.
The cervical vertebral bodies show normal signal intensity. The joints of Luschka and the visualized pre and paravertebral soft tissues are unremarkable.
The cervical spinal cord reveals normal signal intensity.
The atlanto-axial region and the cervico-medullary junction are unremarkable.
IMPRESSION :
1. A large left postero-lateral disc herniation at the C6-C7 level with indentation upon the left C7 nerve root. A small right postero-lateral disc herniation is also seen at this level.
2. A left paracentral disc herniation at the C5-C6 level.
3. Small posterior disc bulges at the C3-C4, C4-C5 and C7-D1 levels.
4. Facetal arthropathy on the right side at the C3-C4 and C5-C6 levels and bilaterally at the C4-C5 level.
