Name of the Patient : Abc Xyz Sarvlmn / M / 44 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzhah.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Cervical Spine.
CLINICAL PROFILE :
C/O neckpain radiating to the LUE with paresthesias.
EXAMINATION :
M.R.I of the cervical spine was performed using the following parameters :
4 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted sagittal images.
5 mm thick T1 Weighted and Fast Scan (T2 *) axial images.
OBSERVATION :
There is loss of water content of the cervical intervertebral discs.
There is partial occipitalization of the anterior arch of C1.
There are small, postero-central protruded discs with peridiscal osteophytes at the C2-C3, C3-C4 and C5-C6 levels.
There is a postero-central disc herniation with peridiscal osteophytes, slightly more to the left of the midline at the C4-C5 level indenting the dural theca anteriorly and narrowing the left neural foramen at that level. Degenerative changes of the joints of Luschka on the left is also noted at this level. There is also slight ligamentum flavum hypertrophy at the C4-C5 level.
There is a left far lateral disc herniation at the C6-C7 level with slight left neural foraminal narrowing.
Facetal hypertrophy is noted in the cervical region, more so at the C4-C5 and C5-C6 levels.
The upper cervical vertebral bodies show spotty fatty marrow changes. The visualized pre and paravertebral soft tissues are unremarkable.
The cervical spinal cord reveals normal signal intensity.
The cervico-medullary junction is unremarkable.
IMPRESSION :
1. Partial occipitalization of the anterior arch of C1.
2. Small, postero-central protruded discs with peridiscal osteophytes at the C2-C3, C3-C4 and C5-C6 levels.
3. A postero-central disc herniation with peridiscal osteophytes, slightly more to the left of the midline at the C4-C5 level with degenerative changes of the joints of Luschka on the left and slight ligamentum flavum hypertrophy at the C4-C5 level.
4. A left far lateral disc herniation at the C6-C7 level.
5. Facetal hypertrophy in the cervical region, more so at the C4-C5 and C5-C6 levels.
