Name of the Patient : Abc Xyzar Jlmn / M / 58 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzvale.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Cervical Spine.

CLINICAL PROFILE :

C/O weakgrip of both hands.

EXAMINATION :

M.R.I of the cervical spine was performed using the following parameters :

4 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted sagittal images.

5 mm thick T1 Weighted and Fast Scan (T2 *) axial images.

OBSERVATION :

The cervical intervertebral discs show loss of water content. There is loss of normal cervical lordosis.

There is a posterior disc herniation with peridiscal osteophytes at the C3-C4 level and anterior indentation of the thecal sac.

Small posterior disc herniations are also noted at the C4-C5, C5-C6 and C6-C7 levels with small posterior peridiscal osteophytes.

Ligamentum flavum hypertrophy is seen at the C3-C4 and C4-C5 levels.

The C3-C4, C4-C5 facet joints bilaterally and the C5-C6 facet joint on the left side show mild degenerative changes.

The cervical vertebral bodies show fatty marrow changes. The joints of Luschka and the visualized pre and paravertebral soft tissues are unremarkable.


The cervical spinal cord reveals normal signal intensity.

The atlanto-axial region and the cervico-medullary junction are unremarkable.

IMPRESSION :

1. A posterior disc herniation with peridiscal osteophytes at the C3-C4 level.

2. Small posterior disc herniations at the C4-C5, C5-C6 and C6-C7 levels with small posterior peridiscal osteophytes.

3. Facetal arthropathy at the C3-C4, C4-C5 levels bilaterally and at the C5-C6 level on the left side.
