Name of the Patient : Abc Xyza Kotlmn / F / 48 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzat.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Paranasal Sinuses.
CLINICAL PROFILE :
C/O nasal bleed.
M.R.I of the paranasal sinuses was performed using the following parameters :
5 mm thick T2 Weighted axial images.
4 mm thick T1 Weighted axial images.
4 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted (with fat saturation) coronal images.
MR Cisternogram was obtained in the sagittal plane.
Susceptibility artifacts are seen in the region of the maxillary sinuses and these may be a result of dental prosthesis.
A well-defined lesion which is hypointense on the T1 Weighted images and turns hyperintense on the T2 Weighted images is seen within the left maxillary sinus. Its superior surface is convex and would most likely represent a polyp.
Septae are seen within the sphenoid sinus.
The ethmoidal air cells, frontal sinus and nasal cavity are unremarkable.
The visualized brain parenchyma and the ventricular system is unremarkable.
The MRI features are suggestive of a polyp within the left maxillary sinus.
