Name of the Patient : Abc Xyz Pramlmn / F / 55 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzapadia.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Left Thumb.
CLINICAL PROFILE :
C/O pain in the left thumb with mild swelling since 10 years.
H/O left thumb nail removal done twice, 1st 4-5 years ago and 2nd 10 years ago.
EXAMINATION :
M.R.I of the left thumb was performed using the following parameters :
3 mm thick T1 Weighted and STIR axial images.
3 mm thick T1 Weighted and GRASS sagittal images.
3 mm thick T1 Weighted and STIR coronal images.
OBSERVATION :
There is seen a well-defined, approximately 1.0 x 0.5 x 1.0 cms sized intermediate signal intensity lesion on the T1 Weighted images in the subungal region of the left thumb (Scans 106.4, 108.3-4, 109.4, 110.4, 107.14, 111.14). This lesion appears hyperintense on the STIR images. There is no obvious bone erosion or destruction seen. The visualized soft tissues around the terminal phalanx of the left thumb are unremarkable. The interphalyngeal joint of the left thumb is unremarkable.
IMPRESSION :
An approximately 1.0 x 0.5 x 1.0 cms sized lesion in the subungal region of the left thumb as described is a ? glomus tumor, ?? implantation dermoid.
