Name of the Patient : Abc Xyzbhakar Glmn / M / 53 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzah.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Brain.
CLINICAL PROFILE :
C/O left trigeminal neuralgia.
EXAMINATION :
M.R.I of the brain was performed using the following parameters :
5 mm thick T1 Weighted, proton and T2 Weighted axial images.
5 mm thick FLAIR coronal images.
MR Cisternogram in the coronal plane.
A limited MR Angio sequence is also obtained.
OBSERVATION :
A small bright focus on the proton and T2 Weighted images is noted in the right parietal subcortical white matter. This lesion appears hypointense to normal white matter on the T1 Weighted images and most likely represents an ischemic focus.
Both the lateral, third and the fourth ventricles are normal. The basal cisternal spaces are unremarkable. There is slight prominence of the cerebral cortical sulci and cerebellar folia bilaterally. There is no shift of the midline structures.
There is a vascular loop traversing superior to the left trigeminal nerve at its root entry zone without deforming the same. A smaller vascular twig is also noted at the root entry zone of the right trigeminal nerve.
IMPRESSION :
1. An ischemic focus in the subcortical white matter in the right parietal region.
2. A vascular loop traversing superior to the left trigeminal nerve at its root entry zone without deforming the same.
3. A smaller vascular twig at the root entry zone of the right trigeminal nerve.
