Name of the Patient : Abc Xyzi lmn / F / 36 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzah.
Examination : Intracranial MR Venogram.
CLINICAL PROFILE :
C/O headaches and visual disturbances on the left side.
H/O irregular menses.
EXAMINATION :
The brain was screened with the help of 5 mm thick T1 Weighted sagittal images and T2 Weighted axial images.
MRV was performed using a 2D TOF technique in the axial, coronal and sagittal planes.
OBSERVATION :
There are still seen small bright foci on the T2 Weighted images in the right para-atrial region and in the subcortical white matter in the left frontal region.
Both the lateral and third ventricles are normal. There is slight prominence of the cerebellar folia bilaterally with mild fullness of the fourth ventricle. A probable arachnoid cyst is noted in the superior cerebellar cistern.
The rest of the basal cisternal spaces are unremarkable. There is no shift of the midline structures.
Incidentally noted is an empty sella.
INTRACRANIAL MRV :
On the MRV the visualized dural and deep venous sinuses show normal flow characteristics. No obvious venous thrombosis is evident on this scan.
IMPRESSION :
1. Small bright foci on the T2 Weighted images in the right para-atrial region and in the subcortical white matter in the left frontal region.
2. Slight prominence of the cerebellar folia with mild fullness of the fourth ventricle.
3. Probable arachnoid cyst in the superior cerebellar cistern.
4. No significant abnormality is detected on the Intracranial MR Venogram.
