Name of the Patient : Abc Xyzi Joglmn / M / 25 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzrges.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Brain.
CLINICAL PROFILE :
C/O seizures (single episode) on 00.00.0000.
EXAMINATION :
M.R.I of the brain was performed using the following parameters :
5 mm thick T1 Weighted, proton and T2 Weighted axial images.
3 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted coronal images.
5 mm thick T1 Weighted sagittal images.
OBSERVATION :
There are very small, subcentimeter, probably confluent lesions in the left temporo-occipital cortex. These lesions appear hypointense to normal white matter on the T1 Weighted images and appear hyperintense on the proton and T2 Weighted images (scans 106.4, 105.4, 101.4). There is perilesional white matter edema with effacement of the sulcal spaces in the left temporo-occipital region (scans 105.4, 106.4, 103.8, 102.8).
Both the lateral, third and the fourth ventricles are normal. The basal cisternal spaces are unremarkable. There is no shift of the midline structures. No obvious vascular anomaly is identified on this study.
IMPRESSION :
Very small, subcentimeter, probably confluent lesions in the left temporo-occipital cortex follow the signal characteristics of cysticercii in the colloid-vesicular stage.
A contrast enhanced scan/follow up scan would be worthwhile.
