Name of the Patient : Abc XyzKlmn / F / 7 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzal.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Brain.
CLINICAL PROFILE :
C/O progressive gait imbalance with occulomotor changes since 3 months.
EXAMINATION :
M.R.I of the brain was performed using the following parameters :
5 mm thick T1 Weighted, proton and T2 Weighted axial images.
5 mm thick FLAIR coronal images.
5 mm thick T1 Weighted sagittal images.
OBSERVATION :
There is prominence of the cerebellar folia bilaterally with mild dilatation of the fourth ventricle. No signal change is however noted. The inferior cerebellar vermis also appears hypoplastic.
The ventral pontine bulge and the olivary bulges are well-maintained.
There is no focal area of altered signal intensity in the brain parenchyma.
Both the lateral and the third ventricles are normal. The basal cisternal spaces are unremarkable. There is no shift of the midline structures. No obvious vascular anomaly is identified on this study.
IMPRESSION :
Cerebellar atrophy with a hypoplastic inferior cerebellar vermis and mild dilatation of the fourth ventricle.
