Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzauhan.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Brain.
CLINICAL PROFILE :
Alleged H/O fall with head injury 6 years ago.
C/O seizures on 00.00.00.
EXAMINATION :
M.R.I of the brain was performed using the following parameters :
5 mm thick T1 Weighted, proton and T2 Weighted axial images.
3 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted coronal images.
OBSERVATION :
The CSF space in the left temporal region, anteriorly is prominent with posterior displacement of the temporal lobe suggestive of an arachnoid cyst. However the left temporal lobe shows normal signal intensity.
The hippocampal complex on either side is unremarkable.
Prominent perivascular spaces are seen in the centrum semiovale bilaterally.
There is slight fullness of the ventricular system with prominence of the cerebral cortical sulci and cerebellar folia bilaterally. Note is made of an enlarged retrocerebellar arachnoid pouch.
The basal cisternal spaces are unremarkable. There is no shift of the midline structures. Ectasia of the left vertebral artery is noted with indentation upon the medulla.
Scan-00000
Incidental note is made of an empty sella. Fluid is noted in the left mastoid air cells.
IMPRESSION :
1. Arachnoid cyst located anterior to the left temporal lobe with mass effect.
2. Mild cerebellar atrophy.
No investigation was available for comparison.
