Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzidhungat.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Cervical Spine.
CLINICAL PROFILE :
C/O weakness of the LUE and LLE since 6 months.
EXAMINATION :
M.R.I of the cervical spine was performed using the following parameters :
4 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted sagittal images.
5 mm thick T1 Weighted and Fast Scan (T2 *) axial images.
OBSERVATION :
Aright postero-lateral disc herniation with peridiscal osteophytes is seen to indent the right ventral aspect of the cord at the C5-C6 level.
There is a small postero-central disc herniation at the C3-C4 level with anterior indentation of the thecal sac.
Posterior disc bulges are seen at the C2-C3, C4-C5 and C6-C7 levels. Small posterior peridiscal osteophytes are noted at the C2-C3 and C4-C5 levels.
The cervical intervertebral discs show loss of water content.
The C4-C5, C5-C6 and C6-C7 facet joints show degenerative changes.
Diffuse fatty changes are seen in the cervical vertebral bodies.
The joints of Luschka and the visualized pre and paravertebral soft tissues are unremarkable.
..2/.
- 2 - Scan-00002
The cervical spinal cord reveals normal signal intensity.
The atlanto-axial region and the cervico-medullary junction are unremarkable.
IMPRESSION :
The MRI features are suggestive of :
1. A small postero-central disc herniation at the C3-C4 level.
2. A right postero-lateral disc hernitaion with peridiscal osteophytes at the C5-C6 level.
