Name of the Patient : Abc Xyzvas Plmn / M / 42 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzndu.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Dorsal Spine.
CLINICAL PROFILE :
C/O backache since 1 month with fever (since 10-12 days).
EXAMINATION :
M.R.I of the dorsal spine was performed using the following parameters :
5 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted sagittal images.
5 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted axial images.
The lumbar spine was screened with 5 mm thick T1 Weighted sagittal images and the cervical spine was screened with 4 mm thick T2 Weighted sagittal images.
OBSERVATION :
The dorsal and lumbar vertebral bodies appear more hypointense than normal on the T1 Weighted images and this may reflect a preponderance of hematopoeitic marrow (? anemic).
Apparent wedging of the D9, D10 and D11 vertebra is noted.
The visualized dorsal intervertebral discs show loss of water content.
The facet joints and the visualized pre and paravertebral soft tissues are unremarkable.
The visualized dorsal spinal cord reveals normal signal intensity.
A posterior disc herniation is noted at the C6-C7 level (on screening the cervical spine).
IMPRESSION :
The MRI features are suggestive of :
1. Altered signal of the dorso-lumbar vertebrae which may reflect a preponderance of hematopoeitic marrow (? anemic).
2. A posterior disc herniation at the C6-C7 level.
