Date : 00.00.00

Name of the Patient : Abc Xyza Panchmlmn / F / 19 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzngsarkar.
Examination : M.R.I. of Both Hips & S. I. Joints.

CLINICAL PROFILE :

C/O pain in the region of the left hip joint since 00.00.00.

EXAMINATION :

M.R.I of both hips and S. I. joints was performed using the following parameters :

5 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted (with fat saturation) axial images.
5 mm thick T1 Weighted and STIR coronal images.

OBSERVATION :

There is an ill-defined hypointense signal on the T1 Weighted images in the left iliac bone adjacent to the left sacro-iliac joint. This signal appears hyperintense on the T2 Weighted and STIR images. Similar but subtle signal change is also noted in the sacral component of the sacro-iliac joint, inferiorly. Minimal fluid is noted in the left sacro-iliac joint. No obvious bone erosion/destruction is noted. Minimal effacement of the fat plane along the anterior and inferior margin of the left sacro-iliac joint is noted.

The right sacro-iliac joint and hip joints on either side are unremarkable.

Probable sacralization of the L5 vertebra is noted.

IMPRESSION :

Altered signal of the iliac and sacral bones adjacent to the left sacro-iliac joint suggest sacro-ilitis, ? infective ? inflammatory in etiology.

The possibility of a neoplasm seems likely.
