Name of the Patient : Abc Xyzal Glmn / M / 17 months.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzah.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Brain.
CLINICAL PROFILE :
C/O delayed milestones with convulsions since 5 months.
H/O being operated for occipital meningocele with hydrocephalus and V.P.Shunt implantation.
EXAMINATION :
M.R.I of the brain was performed using the following parameters :
5 mm thick T1 Weighted, proton and T2 Weighted axial images.
3 mm thick T2 Weighted coronal images.
5 mm thick FLAIR coronal images.
5 mm thick T1 Weighted sagittal images.
OBSERVATION :
There is slight outpouching of the posterior aspect of the cerebellar hemisphere in the meningocele defect with post-operative changes. The cerebellar hemisphere however show normal signal intensity.
There is beaking of the tectal plate.
A ventriculostomy tube is seen to traverse through the right temporal region and tip is seen to lie in the body of the right lateral ventricle which is collapsed.
There is mild fullness of the body of the left lateral ventricle.
The third and the fourth ventricles are normal. The basal cisternal spaces are unremarkable. There is no shift of the midline structures. No obvious vascular anomaly is identified on this study.

- 2 - Scan-00002
IMPRESSION :
The MRI features are suggestive of :
1. Post-operative/post-shunt status.
2. Beaking of the tectal plate.
As compared to the previous CT Scan (Study No.0000 dated 00.00.00), there is reduction in the size of the ventricles.
