Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzate.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Sella & Perisellar Region.
CLINICAL PROFILE :
H/O irregular menses since 4-5 months with prolactin level at 70 ng/ml.
EXAMINATION :
M.R.I of the sella and perisellar region was performed using the following parameters :
3 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted coronal images.
3 mm thick T1 Weighted sagittal images.
The brain was screened with 5 mm thick T2 Weighted axial images.
OBSERVATION :
The superior surface of the pituitary is convex and may be normal for the patients age. No obvious area of altered signal intensity is seen within the pituitary.
The pituitary gland is otherwise normal in its size and reveals normal signal intensity. The posterior pituitary gland reveals normal hyperintense signal on the T1 Weighted images. The pituitary stalk is in the midline. The hypothalamus is unremarkable.
There is no focal area of altered signal intensity within the brain parenchyma on the T2 Weighted axial images.
The ventricular system is normal. The basal cisternal spaces are unremarkable. There is no midline shift. No obvious vascular anomaly is identified on this study.
Incidental note is made of small maxillary polyps and inflammatory changes in the sphenoid sinus on the right side.
