Name of the Patient : Abc XyzPlmn / F / 69 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzah.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Left Ankle & Foot.
CLINICAL PROFILE :
C/O pain and swelling over the left ankle and foot since 3 years.
EXAMINATION :
M.R.I. of the left ankle and foot was performed using the following parameters :
4 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted (with fat saturation) axial images.
4 mm thick T1 Weighted and STIR coronal images.
4 mm thick T1 Weighted and GRASS sagittal images.
OBSERVATION :
The bones of the left ankle show normal alignment. There is an ill-defined, hyperintense signal on the T2 Weighted and STIR images in the subarticular region in the head of the talus, medially at the talo-navicular joint (se/im:105.10 - 12). This lesion appears iso to hypointense to normal on the T1 Weighted images. Fluid is noted along the tendon of the tibialis posterior and flexor digitorum longus muscles in the region of the medial malleolus and slightly proximal to it.
The rest of the visualized bones show normal configuration and signal intensity.
The visualized ligaments of the ankle joint show normal signal intensity. Minimal fluid is noted in the talonavicular and subtalar joints.
IMPRESSION :
1. Altered signal in the subarticular region in the head of the talus, medially as described is of ? etiology ?? degenerative.
2. Fluid along the tendon of the tibialis posterior and flexor digitorum longus muscles suggests tenosynovitis.
3. Minimal fluid in the talonavicular and subtalar region.
