Name of the Patient : Abc Xyza Ali lmn / F / 14 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzhrivastav.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Right Scapula.

CLINICAL PROFILE :

C/O Ewings sarcoma in the right scapular region. Has received 2 cycles of chemotherapy.

EXAMINATION :

M.R.I of the right scapula was performed using the following parameters :

7 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted (with fat saturation) axial images.

7 mm thick T1 Weighted sagittal images.

7 mm thick T1 Weighted and STIR coronal images.

OBSERVATION :

There is large, ill-defined mass lesion which is iso to hypointense to muscle on the T1 Weighted images and having its epicentre in the scapula. The body of the scapula in its superior portion is destroyed. The scapular spine and glenoid are also involved. The entire lesion is seen to turn heterogeneously hyperintense on the T2 Weighted and STIR images.

This lesion is seen to displace and probably involve the supraspinatus, infraspinatus and subscapularis muscles.

The head of the right humerus shows normal contour and the head and upper shaft of the right humerus show normal signal intensity.

There is no joint effusion.


IMPRESSION :

In a known C/O Ewings Sarcoma the MRI features are suggestive of a large, mass lesion involving the body, glenoid and spine of the scapula with extensions as described. The right shoulder joint per se does not appear to be involved.

No previous investigations were available for comparison.
