Name of the Patient : Abc Xyzn Bhalmn / M / 13 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyztrak.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Brain.

CLINICAL PROFILE :

C/O seizures.

EXAMINATION :

M.R.I of the brain was performed using the following parameters :

5 mm thick T1 Weighted, proton and T2 Weighted axial images.
3 mm thick T1 Weighted, T2 Weighted and GRASS coronal images.

OBSERVATION :

There is conglomeration of atleast two lesions in the left frontal region and conglomerate measures approximately 1.0 x 0.6 cms. These are hypointense to white matter on the T1 Weighted images and turns hyperintense on the proton and T2 Weighted images. There is mild surrounding white matter edema with effacement of the adjacent cortical sulci.

The hippocampal complex on either side is unremarkable.

Both the lateral, third and the fourth ventricles are normal. The basal cisternal spaces are unremarkable. There is no shift of the midline structures. No obvious vascular anomaly is identified on this study.

IMPRESSION :

The MRI features are suggestive of granulomatous infective lesions in the left frontal region measuring approximately 1.0 x 0.6 cms. and may represent cysticerci (colloid-vesicular stage). These are less likely to represent tuberculomas.

As compared to the previous CT Scan dated 00.00.0000, there is a reduction in the size of the lesions and the degree of edema.
