Name of the Patient : Abc XyzJhalmn / F / 14 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzaubal.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Cervico-dorsal region.
CLINICAL PROFILE :
C/O swelling over the upper back with pain since December 0000.
EXAMINATION :
M.R.I of the soft tissues of the cervico-dorsal region was performed using the following parameters :
6 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted (with fat saturation) axial images.
7 mm thick T1 Weighted coronal images.
5 mm thick T1 Weighted and Proton density sagittal images.
Vitamin E capsules were placed as a marker at the site of the swelling.
FEW IMAGES SHOW PATIENT MOTION.
OBSERVATION :
There is seen a well-marginated, approximately 6.5 x 2.6 x 6.4 cms sized well-marginated mass lesion in the subcutaneous fat in the cervico-dorsal region, posteriorly, to the right of the midline. This lesion follows the signal characteristics of fat on all the pulse sequences. There is no bone erosion or destruction noted. The underlying muscles show normal signal characteristics.
There is no extension of the lesion into the spinal canal.
The visualized cervico-dorsal vertebral bodies are unremarkable.
IMPRESSION :
An approximately 6.5 x 2.6 x 6.4 cms sized mass lesion in the subcutaneous fat in the cervico-dorsal region, posteriorly, to the right of the midline following fat signal characteristics on all the pulse sequences most likely represents a subcutaneous lipoma.
