Name of the Patient : Abc Xyzn lmn / M / 40 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyzrani.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Cervical Spine.
CLINICAL PROFILE :
C/O hypertonia since 1 year.
H/O viral fever prior to this.
EXAMINATION :
M.R.I of the cervical spine was performed using the following parameters :
4 mm thick T1 Weighted and T2 Weighted sagittal images.
5 mm thick T1 Weighted and Fast Scan (T2 *) axial images.
OBSERVATION :
There are small postero-central disc protrusions at the C2-C3, C3-C4 and C4-C5 levels with anterior indentation of the thecal sac. Small posterior peridiscal osteophytes are also noted at these levels.
A small posterior disc herniation with peridiscal osteophytes at the C5-C6 level with anterior indentation of the thecal sac. The cervical intervertebral discs show loss of water content.
There is mild ligamentum flavum hypertrophy at the C4-C5 and C5-C6 levels. The C3-C4, C4-C5 and C5-C6 facet joints show degenerative changes, bilaterally.
The cervical vertebral bodies show normal signal intensity. The joints of Luschka and the visualized pre and paravertebral soft tissues are unremarkable.
The cervical spinal cord reveals normal signal intensity.
The atlanto-axial region and the cervico-medullary junction are unremarkable.
IMPRESSION :
1. Small postero-central disc protrusions at the C2-C3, C3-C4 and C4-C5 levels with small posterior peridiscal osteophytes at these levels.
2. A small posterior disc herniation with peridiscal osteophytes at the C5-C6 level.
3. Mild ligamentum flavum hypertrophy at the C4-C5 and C5-C6 levels with facetal arthropathy at the C3-C4, C4-C5 and C5-C6 levels.
