Name of the Patient : Abc XyzSanlmn / M / 35 yrs.
Referred by : Dr. Abc Xyza.
Examination : M.R.I. of the Brain.
CLINICAL PROFILE :
C/O occasional giddiness since 1 year.
EXAMINATION :
M.R.I of the brain was performed using the following parameters :
5 mm thick T1 Weighted, proton and T2 Weighted axial images.
5 mm thick FLAIR coronal images.
3 mm thick T1 Weighted coronal images.
OBSERVATION :
There is a focal area of hypointensity on the T1 Weighted images which turns hyperintense on the proton, T2 Weighted and FLAIR images within the deep white matter in the right frontal lobe (se/im 102/14, 103/14, 104/14 and 105/14).
There is mild fullness of both the lateral ventricles. There is mild prominence of the cerebral cortical sulci bilaterally.
The third and the fourth ventricles are normal. The basal cisternal spaces are unremarkable. There is no shift of the midline structures. No obvious vascular anomaly is identified on this study.
IMPRESSION :
A focus of altered signal within the deep white matter in the right frontal lobe is not specific for a single etiology (? plaque of demyelination, ? ischemic focus).
